Swim Club

Swim club is offered weekly from October through April.  Students in E2 and higher are eligible to join, provided they can swim 25 meters unaided.  Swimming weekly allow for fun, physical activity that has the added benefit of swimming stoke development.  Children learn and refine their technique in Freestyle, Backstroke, Breaststroke, and Butterfly.  The culmination of weekly practice is participation in the City-wide Swim Meet held in April each year.  This gives children the opportunity to see how much progress they have made by reaching their personal best.  Go Bobcats!

 

 

 

Ski Club

Each year for 6 weeks starting in January the Desert Montessori Ski Club students in grades E1 and higher go to ‘Ski Santa Fe’, which is within 30 minutes of the School.  In the morning they have lessons in small groups under direction of Ski Santa Fe professional ski teachers.  All levels of skiers and snowboarders can be accommodated, from ‘never ever’ to ‘black diamond’.  Several parent chaperones accompany the children and can be eligible for reduced rate lift tickets.  After a lunch on your own, everyone is free to enjoy skiing during the rest of the afternoon.  The cost for the 6 lessons, lift tickets and rentals is $250 (slightly more for snow boards).
