Synopsis:   The Desert Montessori School Upper Elementary Students will be performing the play “Hail Bounteous May”, written by Valera Sovcik. This play takes place in the Palace of a King and Queen. The sweet vocal sounds of the Madrigals will fill the courtyard of the Palace. The Royal String Musicians will delight the King and Queen while jovial Court Jesters provide merriment and laughter. Of course, no Renaissance Festival would be complete without a tribute to the honorable William Shakespeare. All the students will be clad in beautiful costumes representative of this time period.

Following the play, students will present their research projects on Renaissance people who have made significant contributions to the worlds of science, art, architecture, music, exploration, leadership, medicine and technology.

The children will have a Royal Feast with pomp and ceremony along with foods reminiscent of the Renaissance Era.  The day will culminate with the children merrily playing Renaissance games and activities, such as Nine Men’s Morris.

A good time will be had by all.
